t’s no news that we need to improve women and underrepresented groups at tech events. I personally stand by my belief that tech is not restricted to a certain group of people, aka programmers as most believe.
This talk / workshop will explore what we can you do to foster, promote, and support diversity and an inclusive space in our communities. By the end of this session, participants will walk away knowing four things.
1. What diversity and community means in our WordPress context
2. How to make our community welcoming and safe, both in person and online
3. How to step up to be speakers, leaders and better allies in our community.
4. Participants will walk away with an action list to start making changes right away.
Participants should come with an electronic device / computer / notepad, we will get practical.
